This year, our firm’s New Year’s Resolution was to “give back” to the community in as many ways as possible. In January, our team was able to sit down and discuss how to put that plan into action. After much deliberation, we decided that our philanthropy focus this year would be for the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.
The Ronald McDonald House is a large national organization that hosts families of children who are battling severe illness. When a family has to travel to an unfamiliar place far from home, the last thing they want to worry about is finding a place to stay. The Ronald McDonald house serves as a “home away from home” for those children and their loved ones. The outstanding work this charity does for families really drew us in.
On March 7th, our office had the pleasure of attending Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte’s Casino Night: A Night of Glitz, Glamour & Giving. A former client of ours and his wife were able to attend the event with us and even teach us a few of his gambling skills. During the evening, we were able to hear a personal story from the father of a child who formerly stayed at Ronald McDonald House and it truly touched each of us. We were able to donate a “Charlotte Knights” themed silent auction basket that raised $190 for the house. The night concluded with our attorney Bryan Tyson winning a gift certificate from the raffle! The evening was a success and our firm looks forward to doing more things with Ronald McDonald House in the near future.
